. Shaftesbury. A Letter Concerning Enthusiasm

Anthony Ashley Cooper, el tercer earl de Shaftesbury (y nieto del gran amigo de Locke) es el autor de una muy recomendable Letter concerning Enthusiasm (1711), en la que advierte sobre el peligro de dejarse llevar por el entusiasmo en política. Veo en la Encyclopaedia Britannica que Shaftesbury, cuando fue elegido al Parlamento, mantuvo una estricta conducta: "Ashley could by no means be depended on to give a party vote; he supported any proposals which appeared to promote the liberty of the subject and the independence of parliament".
