LIQUIDEZ GLOBAL. MÁS SOBRE EL "BOOM" DEL ARTE & LA LIQUIDEZ

The Economist analiza el "boom" del arte, mencionando las mismas piezas comentadas recientemente por Hugo Perini. Sobresale en la nota la opinión de Jeremy Grantham, de los inversores GMO: la suba de precios coincide con la de los demás mercados de activos y es "part of a global wave of liquidity that is pushing up asset prices everywhere".

The Economist compara la situación actual con la de finales de los 1980s, cuando inversores japoneses pagaron sumas extravagantes por cuadros de pintores impresionistas. Según Grantham, estamos en plena burbuja. La revista inglesa concluye de manera bastante preocupante:

A variant of the same argument is that high art prices reflect the increasing number of rich people from all parts of the world. Russian and Chinese millionaires, along with hedge-fund and private-equity managers, have run out of houses to buy and yachts to launch, and would like to display their wealth on their walls.
